Category: domestic abuse

I do not understand the motivation of those who want to dismiss male domestic abuse as a non-issue or pretend it does not happen. Every victim of domestic abuse, be they male or female, should receive support based on their need as an individual. Their gender, race, sexuality etc are obviously important factors and may influence Read more…

7 Years of Abuse and I Had No Idea I Was in an Abusive Relationship I knew I had a difficult marriage, but it wasn’t until 2006, when a neighbour witnessed me being attacked and suggested to me that I was the victim of domestic abuse, that the penny started to drop. That neighbour was the Read more…

Under Egyptian Personal Status law, although the father is considered to be the guardian of his children, the mother has the right to custody of both male and female children until they reach fifteen years of age. This is applied even if the mother is foreign and intends to take the children out of the country.

The mother kept demanding more, however.

At one time, she made a video of her beating the child. In a short clip, the boy’s skinny body appears, his tears overflowing as he was severely beaten by a woman asking him in a loud voice to call his father, “Say, come, take me .. the spirit of living with him threw you like a dog.” It seems the threat was to pay more, or to see his son beaten.

Whether as a childhood or as adults, men are only slightly less likely to have experienced sexual abuse than women. Mike Buchanan, the UK political party’s leader writes: Our thanks to Rob, a generous Australian Read more…

On the International Day on gender violence, which was held last Monday, 25 November 2019, the Spanish HazteOir.org (be heard) media sent the message that “violence does not have gender”. This does not intend, in any way, to claim violence against women exerted by violent men who call themselves men when they are animals. The Read more…

Adults who ‘chose’ to reject a parent after separation, struggle today with the impact of that and are in need of therapeutic help to correct psychological distortions and restore balanced vision.

Researching Reform asked its members to describe what was missing in the Family Courts .. in just one word! Understandably, many found the task too difficult: it is far easier to write an essay on the subject. However, their readers’ responses are worth a peruse: If you feel you’d like to write an essay on Read more…

Japanese women are attacking men in increasing numbers, sometimes fatally.
Overall, Japan has seen a decrease in suicide in recent years. However, for men, there is a distinct increase.

France’s Ministry of Equality is considering legislation which punishes partners who so abuse their partner that they commit suicide. If other countries were to follow suit, men as well as women would start to get better legal protection from their abusive partner.
