Human Rights And Wrongs

Month: November 2019

It is astounding that the same organisation that is willing to spend millions of dollars on promoting genital mutilation (only of males) is still willing to admit the truth about the global male health gap.

This International Men’s Day, appreciate the men in your life and thank them.

It’s one special day in the year to thank men for all their love, strength, caring and support. Happy Men’s Day!

I’d like to continue with a thought experiment. I’d like you to imagine yourselves living in a patriarchy, and more specifically a patriarchy as envisaged by feminists, one in which men as a class oppress women and girls as a class, for the benefit of men and boys, as they have for millennia.

In this patriarchy, of course, women wouldn’t have the vote. Let’s further imagine that in 1967 an Act was passed, not the Abortion Act, but an Act that gave fathers of babies up to 24 weeks of age the right to have their babies killed by doctors at taxpayers’ expense, without fear of punishment. Mothers would have no right to stop the killing of their babies. In the 52 years since the Act was passed, over 10 million babies have been killed, and every year another 200,000 plus are killed. Fathers justify their right to have their babies killed with the slogan, “My baby, my choice”.

To those not well versed in the manner in which policy narratives have changed in the last dozen years, prepare yourselves for the radical revision of the meaning of the word “equality” which is now politically and judicially established.
Do not imagine that these are mere philosophical niceties without import in the real world. On the contrary, they have a profound impact on the lives of at least hundreds of thousands of people annually.
…But conceding the “gendered nature” of domestic abuse perpetuates the myth that domestic abuse is overwhelmingly perpetrated by men upon women, that women perceive the harm of such abuse far more acutely than do men, and that domestic abuse is specifically a tool used by men to maintain patriarchal power and control over women.
All these claims are refuted by empirical evidence…
This is lamentably by no means the only reason to be concerned that long-cherished principles of justice are now being overturned. But that’s another story and I’m out of time.

It used to be that socialism, particularly of the more strident Marxist brand, was always harping on about equality. Equality in those days, we were always assured, was equality of opportunity. Obviously that was rather unconvincing the more left you move in politics, since communism was overtly about equality of outcome. Regardless of your interests, capability and effort, you were not supposed to achieve anything, in any sphere, that benefitted just you. If you work hard, you work hard for everyone, including those who prefer to rely on your hard work.

Still, it was equality — of a sort. When you investigate even the call for equality of outcome, it is clear that is not really what it is about.

Politicians who stand up and demand equality, even for people supposedly in groups labelled ‘advantaged’, are increasingly harrangued by feminists and ‘social justice’ ‘warriors’. These decriers of equality want to implement a society in your nation on a model that is a proven disaster. History shows us that it will kill millions if they manage it. And they are doing well so far because most people are too little interested in human rights, or in human wrongs.

If anyone tried to make this speech in today’s open forums, there would be violent riots. The most vocal people who talk about this kind of ‘diversity’ have stopped being just vocal: they have adopted oppressive violence. The truth threatens those who want to corrupt a healthy society.

The Department of Gender Equality announced the girls’ parliament and the masculinity attack under the heading of “In Basel, gender stereotypes are broken up”. What they are actually doing is creating new stereotypes, with one sex on the bottom of the pile.

Another ‘woke’ movie. Another box-office flop. How many more millions of dollars are available for attempts to indoctrinate society with Cultural Marxism’s messages has yet to be seen.
What is going wrong is the idea of the strong, capable woman crossed with the perpetual victim, feminist-style. It doesn’t work for women in society and on screen it looks even more ridiculous.

Sideshow Bob impersonator Mona Eltahawy stole the show on a recent Q&A feminist special episode with her deranged comments.

Trinidad and Tobago, where International Men’s Day began in 1992, is back on the headlines. Psychologist Dexter De Bellotte calls for safe spaces where men can talk about their problems.

The issue of romances that start up by people meeting at work has come to the fore recently, as a MacDonald’s boss has lost his £12 million a year job.
But life — and attraction between the sexes — isn’t like that.
Which way will other countries go? Will they choose to allow companies to dictate to people in a way that has caused civil war in the past, or will the people insist on their right to a private life?

As the International Day for Tolerance looms close, it seems the purge of UK politicians not fully signed up to the current LGBT orthodoxy continues.
Conscientious commitment to traditional beliefs about marriage should not be suppressed in a free and tolerant society.

Trump Admin Tells UN “There is No International Right to Abortion. Everyone Has a Right to Life”

The UNFPA is the organisation that stated openly that the broken family is a “triumph of human rights”. It’s time other nations stopped funding this dreadful organisation.
